SK Global Names Elizabeth Haggard Executive Vice President and Head of Film
Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel Jeannine Tang praised Haggard’s promotion as a reflection of her “impeccable taste, ability to cultivate meaningful relationships, and thoughtful approach to guiding projects.” Tang added that Haggard’s “clear vision for the film group’s future makes her exceptionally well suited for this role as SK Global steps into the next chapter of our storied legacy.” Haggard echoed the sentiment, stating she is “thrilled to step into this new role and continue building SK Global’s dynamic slate of high‑quality and globally resonant content.”
SK Global, formerly Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, has produced and financed more than 100 features and earned 20 Academy Award nominations. The studio’s most recognizable titles include the romantic comedies Crazy Rich Asians and Anyone but You, the crime‑drama Hell or High Water, the thriller The Place Beyond the Pines, and the documentary Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa. Upcoming releases include the Reykjavík‑set drama The Brink of War, starring Jeff Daniels and Jared Harris, scheduled for Angel Studios’ 14 August release, and the drama series The Season, produced in partnership with Hong Kong’s PCCW Media.
Before joining SK Global, Haggard served as Senior Vice President of Narrative Film at Participant Media, where she shepherded projects such as Prima Facie, the film adaptation of the Tony‑winning play, and BLKNWS by Kahlil Joseph. She also produced Netflix’s biopic Shirley, written and directed by John Ridley and starring Regina King. Haggard’s earlier career included a three‑year tenure at Ramona Films, producing Janicza Bravo’s Zola for A24, Dave Franco’s directorial debut The Rental for IFC and Black Bear, and Hulu’s Emmy‑winning Pam & Tommy. She began her career with nearly a decade at Universal Pictures.
The promotion arrives as SK Global expands its film portfolio. In 2025 the studio announced a slate that includes a mix of dramas, thrillers and genre projects, many of which are slated for release on streaming platforms or in limited theatrical runs. Haggard’s experience with socially conscious storytelling at Participant and her track record of developing projects across multiple formats position her to guide SK Global’s narrative division through a period of growth and diversification.
Industry observers note that SK Global’s move to elevate Haggard aligns with a broader trend of independent studios investing in strong, experienced leadership to navigate the increasingly competitive distribution landscape. The studio’s history of producing award‑nominated work and its recent focus on global‑market content suggest that Haggard’s oversight could help secure additional international partnerships and broaden the reach of SK Global’s upcoming titles.
As of now, SK Global has no announced changes to its distribution agreements or upcoming festival schedules beyond the release dates for The Brink of War and The Season. The studio remains committed to its strategy of producing high‑quality, globally resonant films and series, with Haggard’s appointment marking a new chapter in its development and production trajectory.
