Netflix’s latest crime‑drama, I Will Find You, drops the curtain on a tangled search for a missing son and leaves viewers wondering whether a budding romance could be in the off‑screen cards.

The eight‑episode miniseries premiered on June 18, 2026, and is now available on the streaming platform. Adapted from Harlan Coben’s 2023 novel of the same name, the book’s author also sits on the show’s executive‑producer panel. Creator and showrunner Robert Hull helmed the television version, guiding the story of David Burroughs (Sam Worthington) as he hunts for his son, Matthew, whom he suspects may still be alive after a wrongful murder conviction.

David’s quest takes an unexpected turn when his former sister‑in‑law, Rachel (Britt Lower), steps into the frame. A photo she finds hints at Matthew’s survival, and the two team up to follow a trail that leads them across the United States. The cast also includes Milo Ventimiglia as Hayden, Erin Richards, Jonathan Tucker, Madeleine Stowe, Clancy Brown, Logan Browning and Vas Saranga.

The series ends with David and Rachel still single, but a subtle hand‑holding moment in the finale has sparked speculation about a possible romantic connection. In an interview with Us magazine, Hull explained that the scene was meant to “indicate what I truly wanted to do” and that the show’s goal was to make viewers want the two characters to be together. He added, “Whether they are or not, I think is left open because I think there’s different definitions of soulmates and I think the journey that they’ve gone on, they’re so connected. If that turns romantic all the better, but I just wanted people rooting for it.” Hull emphasized that the narrative focus remains on Rachel’s story, noting that she “saves David a lot more in the series than David saves her.”

Coben himself expressed optimism about the characters’ futures. Speaking to Us, he said, “I want you the audience to think about it. I hope this is one of those stories where you’re wondering … I’d love to ask you where you think all these characters are in a year and see what you think. I’m optimistic. I’m an optimist.”

The production team chose real locations over elaborate sets, a decision Hull described as both the “biggest challenge” and the “biggest asset.” The series features authentic streets, relocations, stunts and wirework, and the crew credits the realistic backdrop with adding depth to the narrative.

Although the adaptation required changes from the source material, Hull stressed that the core DNA of the novel remained intact. He said, “First and foremost, I’m a custodian of the novel and I was first and foremost a fan of Harlan’s and a fan of the novel. The DNA is there and the heart of the show is there if you read the book.”

I Will Find You is part of Netflix’s broader strategy of adapting Coben’s thrillers, which also includes Missing You, Run Away and Fool Me Once. The series carries a 16+ rating and has been praised for its tight pacing and atmospheric tension. While the ending does not resolve the romantic question definitively, the hand‑holding moment and Hull’s comments suggest that the possibility remains open for future storytelling.

As of now, the series remains available on Netflix, and no official statement has been issued regarding a continuation or a spin‑off that would explore David and Rachel’s relationship further. Fans of the show can continue to follow the series’ reception and any future announcements from Netflix or the production team.
