On June 18, 2026, Netflix unveiled the eight‑episode miniseries I Will Find You, a tense, character‑driven thriller that culminates in a surprise revelation: the kidnapper is none other than Milo Ventimiglia’s character, Hayden.

The story centers on David Burroughs (Sam Worthington), a Maine prison inmate serving a life sentence after being convicted of killing his son. A cryptic message hints that the boy may still be alive, compelling David to break out and launch a desperate search. As the plot unspools, the audience is led to expect a shadowy figure behind the abduction—only to discover that the orchestrator is Hayden, played by Ventimiglia.

Ventimiglia’s presence is complemented by Britt Lower as David’s wife, Erin Richards in a key supporting role, and a host of other actors. The actor, best known for his work on Gilmore Girls, Heroes, and This Is Us, brings a familiar, likable aura that the writers deliberately subverted.

Showrunner Robert Hull explained the choice in an interview with Us Weekly: “When you hear somebody like Milo, you usually think what about somebody like him. You don’t think he’s actually going to do it and be third on the call sheet.” Hull added that the team appreciated Ventimiglia’s willingness to tackle a complex role, noting, “Luckily for Milo, he doesn’t care. He just wants to play a great role.”

Author Harlan Coben, who serves as executive producer, echoed the intent behind the twist: “Milo is one of the loveliest human beings besides a lovely actor and you immediately think of him and This Is Us and Gilmore Girls and Heroes. He’s such a likable presence that we were able to sort of exploit that. Let’s just say that.”

Production took a hands‑on, grounded approach. Hull recalled, “The biggest challenge for us was also our biggest asset,” referring to the decision to shoot in real locations rather than constructed sets. “Which is that very early on Harlan and I wanted to really shoot in the real world. We didn’t build a lot of sets,” he explained. He continued, “We were out on real streets, relocations, real stunts, real wirework, because even with visual effects, there’s nothing that can replace putting an incredible actor in a real location and just letting them bring it to life. Once you do that, your job’s kind of done.”

This series marks the first time a Harlan Coben adaptation has been filmed entirely in the United States, a departure from the author’s previous projects that were set across Europe. The partnership with Netflix continues Coben’s growing presence on the streaming platform, which has released several of his works in recent years.

All eight episodes of I Will Find You are now available on Netflix for a full binge. The release aligns with the platform’s strategy of offering complete seasons at launch, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the narrative without waiting for weekly drops.

In short, the miniseries delivers a twist that leverages Milo Ventimiglia’s established screen persona, a production that favors authentic locations, and a narrative that follows a father’s desperate search for a son believed dead. The series is fully available on Netflix, and viewers can explore the complete story arc across its eight episodes.
