All American Announces Final Season Premiere and Tribute Special on The CW
The special, titled All American: The Final Season Special, runs from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time and will take viewers on a journey through the series’ most iconic moments, spotlighting the relationships that have made the show resonate.
A month later, the eighth and final season launches with a two‑hour premiere on Monday, July 13, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The season will contain 13 episodes and will air Monday nights on the CW until it concludes on September 28, 2026.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll described the series as a family story. "How do you say goodbye to family? Because that is what these characters, these actors, this ALL AMERICAN crew and staff are after eight beautiful, hard‑fought seasons together," Carroll told the network. "This was the question on repeat for all of us as we crafted this final season with long hours, lots of love, and even more tears. And what we realized was that just like when your kids grow up and finally leave home, this wasn’t goodbye… It was a tear‑filled I’ll see you soon."
The eighth season will feature the core ensemble: Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, Bre‑Z, Osy Ikhile, Alexis Chikaeze, Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, Antonio J. Bell, Kareem Grimes, and Lauryn Hardy. Daniel Ezra and Samantha Logan are slated to appear in guest roles.
All American first premiered on the CW on October 10, 2018. Created by April Blair, the show follows Spencer James, a high‑school football star from Crenshaw who is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High. While linear ratings were modest at first, the series grew into a “sleeper hit” after landing on Netflix.
In June 2025, the network announced the renewal of the series for an eighth and final season. The CW’s statement noted that the new season would air mid‑season in 2026.
After each episode airs live on the CW, viewers can watch the next installment the following day for free on the network’s website or app. For live viewing, subscribers can use a live‑TV streaming service such as DIRECTV or Hulu + Live TV. DIRECTV offers a five‑day free trial and genre packs starting at $19.99 per month. Hulu + Live TV, which bundles Disney+ and ESPN Select, costs $89.99 per month and also offers a free trial.
The series remains part of the CW/Netflix licensing arrangement that began in 2015. Under that deal, new seasons become available on Netflix eight days after their final episode airs on the CW. Therefore, the eighth season will appear on Netflix on July 21, 2026.
The final season will tie up the story arcs that have spanned eight years, addressing unresolved plot points and providing closure for the characters and their families. The CW has not released a detailed episode guide, but the network confirmed that the season will follow the same Monday‑night schedule as previous seasons.
The tribute special on June 22 will serve as a prelude to the final season, offering fans a chance to revisit key moments and celebrate the series’ impact on the sports‑drama genre.
In summary, All American will finish its run with a 13‑episode final season that premieres July 13 on the CW, followed by a Netflix release on July 21. Fans can watch the tribute special on June 22 and then follow the series each Monday night. The show’s conclusion will be available on multiple platforms, ensuring that viewers can access the final chapters through live TV, streaming services, or the network’s own on‑demand offering.
