Hiroshi Kamiya Joins Voice Cast of Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2
The announcement came in a press release from the production team on July 5, 2026. According to the release, Kamiya’s role will debut on Sunday, July 9, 2026. The character first appears in the episode that marks the season’s 38th installment.
Season 2 of the anime, which began airing on April 12, 2026, continues to occupy the “Nichigo” Sunday evening slot at 5:00 p.m. JST on Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS), Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS), and 26 affiliated stations. Episodes are released weekly and are also available for streaming on Hulu in the United States, where viewers can watch an English dub.
The story follows high‑schooler Taiyou Asano, who has struggled to find his place after his family perished in a car accident. His life takes a dramatic turn when he becomes engaged to Mutsumi Yozakura, the head of a powerful spy family. Taiyou must learn to navigate the dangers of espionage, including the overprotective older brother Kyoichiro, who views him as a threat.
Behind the scenes, the creative team has largely stayed the same. Mirai Minato returns as chief director, while Takahiro Nakatsugawa—who served as storyboard artist and episode director in season 1—steps into the role of series director. Character designer Mizuki Takahashi, composer Kōji Fujimoto, and sound director Tōru Kanegae also continue in their positions.
Musically, the season opens with the single “What’s ‘KAZOKU’” performed by idol group Sakurazaka46. The ending theme, “Shalala,” is delivered by the band Pilaf Alien. Both tracks were released alongside the season’s launch.
The franchise’s roots lie in Hitsuji Gondaira’s manga, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump in August 2019 and wrapped up in January 2025. The series was collected into 29 tankōbon volumes, with the final volume released in March 2025. Viz Media has published the manga digitally in English since its debut in Japan and began releasing print volumes in October 2022. Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service also offers the series online.
Beyond the manga and anime, Mission: Yozakura Family has expanded through several light novels that explore the world’s backstory.
Kamiya’s addition is noteworthy because of his extensive résumé. He is best known for voicing Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan and Trafalgar Law in One Piece. His involvement is expected to bring a familiar voice to fans of the series.
The production team confirmed that the second season’s broadcast schedule and streaming availability remain unchanged. Episodes continue to air on Sunday evenings in Japan, and Hulu users can stream the series with an English dub. No further cast additions or production changes have been announced.
In short, Mission: Yozakura Family season 2 stays on track with a stable creative team and the fresh addition of Hiroshi Kamiya to its voice roster. The series maintains its momentum through consistent weekly releases and cross‑platform accessibility, keeping its fan base engaged as the spy‑filled narrative unfolds.
